2018 Snap Kitchen Review + $10.00 Off!

The last few weeks have been really busy for me! I decided to rebrand and refresh my blog. It’s the busiest time of year at work for me, and I’m helping my son prepare for a big trip this summer. I love to make my own meals at home, but lately I haven’t had time to do so. I also want to eat healthy foods that will help me lose weight, so I can’t just stop at a random fast food place. So, I decided to turn to Snap Kitchen for help, and to save time on prepping my food for the week.

Snap Kitchen is a one-stop shop for nutritious meals and snacks. They offer foods, snacks, juices, and other drinks that area already cooked and prepared. They also launched an app that makes ordering food, and creating meal plans ridiculously easy. It had been a very long time since I used the service, so I was glad to see that they had made so many positive changes by adding the app and making it easy to see the whole menu, nutrition information, and order ahead.

The first day that I stopped in after my long hiatus, I planned to pick up breakfast and lunch. One of the friendly young ladies who worked at the store helped me pick out foods that matched my preferences, then she showed me how to use the new app. The best part was that she gave me a code to get $10.00 off of my purchase! I was able to add all of my foods to the app, and buy them there with the $10.00 of coupon code. You can use my code referral code to get $10.00 off your purchase with Snap Kitchen when you download the app. The code is DJOH-GW6. (I’ll get $10.00, too, when you use my code, so it’s a win-win for both of us.)

Click here to get started: https://www.snapkitchen.com/refer/djoh-gw6?name=Debra. It’s really easy to order in the app, then go in and pick up your order. You can also go in the store and pick out your items, then use the app to pay and get the $10.00 off!

After I discovered the ease of ordering the app, I used it to plan my meals for a few days, and I ordered the meals right in the app and had them ready to pick up when I got to the store. My favorite locations here in Houston are the Bellaire locations, which are really convenient when I’m on my way to work or out and about in the city. With careful meal-planning, I’ve lost 7 pounds over the last few weeks. Replacing only a few of my meals each week with foods from Snap Kitchen has made a very big difference.

Here are some of my favorite items from Snap Kitchen!

Chicken Sausage & Eggs Breakfast Tacos

The chicken sausage breakfast tacos taste like an indulgent breakfast, but they are made with great ingredients, including coconut flour tortillas.  These breakfast tacos are full of flavor, but they are a lot easier on my waistline than traditional breakfast tacos from “fast food” chains.

Great lunch option!

Rebbl Cold-Brew Coffee

The cold-brew content is a great standalone breakfast choice, and it also goes well with the breakfast options. I’m not a big fan of cold coffee, but this one was a hit!

Chicken Fried Brocolli Rice

If you want a healthier option than the traditional fried “Chinese food” options, the chicken fried broccoli rice is a great alternative. It gives the taste of Asian-influenced flavors and the crunch of fried foods without as much saturated fat and grease.

A few of my other favorite options are the naked beef and the chai cashew shake! I love that they also have healthier potato chips, lots of fresh juices, and more items to choose from. If you download the app, or go online, you can see the entire range of food options, including an easy way to plan meals and buy meal plans that are ready to be picked up or delivered.

I don’t purchase all of my meals from Snap Kitchen. I use them as a convenient option in place of traditional “fast food.” You can pop into a store location and grab an item, or you can plan an entire meal. There are lots of options available.

How to Get Started with Snap Kitchen

  1. Download the Snap Kitchen app onto your iPhone or Android.
  2. Enter the Code DJOH-GW6 to get $10.00 off your first order.
  3. Find the location closest to you.
  4. Browse the menu and select the items you want, then pay using your debit/credit card or Apple Pay.
  5. Pick up your selections from the store! Your items will be bagged and ready for you.

You can also download the app and enter your code, then go in the store to browse and check-out in the app to get $10.00 off!

As someone who is very busy, I like having the option of using the app to order my meals ahead of time. Most of the time, I prep my meals at home, but I by replacing my traditional fast foods with Snap Kitchen, being more active, and prepping a few healthy meals at home, I’ve lost 7 pounds in three weeks.

If you’re looking for a way to save time and money on food prep, definitely check out Snap Kitchen, and don’t’ forget to use my code in the app (DJOH-GW6), or use my link https://www.snapkitchen.com/refer/djoh-gw6?name=Debra.

  • Last week, I stopped in at the Paper Co. Cafe for a delish vegetarian bean burger, with sweet potato fries and a tea. I like how spacious the cafe was. It's a nice place to get some work done and grab a cup of coffer or tea, and some real food. If you're looking for a local #htx cafe, check it out. 👋🏾 Swipe for pictures of the food and the space! @papercohouston ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Lately, I’ve been working on improving my writing skills. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and a JD....AND I've taught writing professionally. So, why do I still strive to improve? There are lots of reasons, but here are a few. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. A good writer is always striving to get better.
2. I've switched up my brand over the past couple of years, and I don't think I've communicated that very clearly.
3. I'm adding additional products and services that I need to write about in order to share those with people. It's easy for me to write or other people, but it's harder for me to craft my own brand message and essentially "publicize myself."
We live in a very crowded world where we are bombarded daily with lots of messages. I have a message that I want to share, but I have to write clear copy in order to convey that message. Plus, business and analytical writing is a lot different than writing content online specifically for MY audience. So, I have to keep working to improve my skills to try to get my message out there.
It's also a big time investment, but I'll still be sharing my day to day life experiences here on Insta while I work on my blog behind the scenes! What are some things you're working on to get better?

  • “Melange” means a mixture or medley, and there were certainly a variety of crepes at Melange Creperie. One of the fun things about @melangecreperie is that you can actually watch your crêpe being prepared!
I love the look of this place! The aesthetic of the building outside is actually what made me go inside. I’m thinking about exploring some other restaurants in the Heights over the next few weeks. Any suggestions?
